Arizona Neurology Associates (ANA) are a seasoned team of highly trained experts who treat Hemifacial spasm with remarkable results.

Appropriately named, Hemifacial spasm is a condition also known as tic convulsif, and is a condition that causes frequent “tics,” or muscle spasms that affects half of your face. It usually starts with a twitching around one eye and may gradually involve your mouth also. Hemifacial spasm can affect both men and women, but it is most common in middle-aged and older women; its incidence is also higher among Asian people.
Hemifacial spasm is a nervous system disorder in which the muscles on one side of your face twitch involuntarily. Hemifacial spasm is the result of pressure on the facial nerve from a structure or abnormality within the brain and is usually a long-term condition and rarely improves completely without treatment.  Although not fatal, it can affect your quality of life and this is the point at which most people will seek medical intervention.

Our doctors at Arizona Neurology Associates, will educate you about your condition and work with you to determine the most appropriate treatment for you. Depending on your specific symptoms, your treatment may include Botulinum injections. These will involve additional treatments every few months.
